'Childish' hobbies

Who decides what is childish?

When does an activity, hobby, or interest become 'childish'?

There are so many problems in the world, and yet there are just as many people trying to dictate another person's enjoyment. Why? Because they find joy in tearing people down. That, and they can't stand seeing others happy.

There are many other reasons, of course, but that is beside the point.

The point is: People are entitled to enjoy what they enjoy. Simple as that.

Nothing suddenly loses value once you reach a certain age. There is no age at which you suddenly stop having fun or your interests change. Do interests change? Absolutely–but not because of age. There are also many adults picking up interests and hobbies that they never had an opportunity to engage with or partake in as children.

Let people have fun.

Let people enjoy themselves.

It harms no one to draw or colour in, build with LEGO, collect rocks and plushies, or any other toy and interest that might make a person smile.

I collect plushies.

I colour in.

I go to Comic con.

I write fanfiction.

I fangirl over certain celebrities.

I listen to children's music at home simply because I like the beat.

There are many others as well, and I will not be ashamed of that.
